CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County couple is suing a Clearwater shopping center parking lot operator, alleging negligence led to the wife suffering injuries.

Despina Harrison and John Harrison filed a complaint Nov. 26 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Northside Square LLC, alleging failure to exercise reasonable care for the safety of its invitees.

According to the complaint, on May 17, Despina Harrison was lawfully walking to her vehicle parked on the premises of Northside Square in Clearwater. The suit says Harrison slipped and fell on what appeared to be a pothole.

Harrison says she sustained bodily injuries and incurred medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering. John Harrison alleges he suffered loss of his wife's services, companionship and consortium.

The plaintiffs allege Northside Square failed to ensure that the parking lot was free and clear of hazards and dangerous conditions and failed to provide adequate warning of the danger of slipping or tripping in or on a pothole.

The Harrisons seek trial by jury and damages of more than $15,000. They are represented by attorney Kristin Karbrowski of Morgan & Morgan Tampa PA in Tampa.
