ORLANDO — A motorist and passenger are suing Karim George Barsom Gerges, a Canadian resident, citing alleged negligence.
Isabelle Wadsworth and Michelle Wadsworth filed a complaint on Nov. 20 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court for Orange County against Karim George Barsom Gerges alleging that he failed to exercise standard care and skill in the operation of a vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Dec. 19, 2014, while Isabelle was driving a 2006 Pontiac Vibe with Michelle as a passenger along State Road 482, in the intersection of International Drive in Orlando, Orange County, Gerges carelessly operated a 2015 Jeep Patriot so that it collided with her motor vehicle. As a result, both women sustained bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, lost earnings, incurred medical expenses and/or aggravation of a previously existing condition.
They hold Gerges responsible because he allegedly failed to adequately maintain and operate a motor vehicle so as not to cause harm, and he failed to be on a proper lookout for other vehicles.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant for compensatory damages in excess of $15,000, exclusive of interest and costs. They are represented by Daniel F. Dill of The Dill Law Group in Orlando and Brian K. McClain of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
