CLEARWATER — A motorist is suing another driver and his employer, alleging negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Jacqueline Tortorella filed a complaint Nov. 12 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Ross Martle and Florida Palms Tree Service Inc., alleging Martle failed to operate the Florida Palms vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 14, 2014, Tortorella was involved in an auto collision when the Florida Palms Tree Service vehicle driven by Martle collided with her automobile at the intersection of Bryan Dairy Road and 66th Street in Largo.

Tortorella says she sustained bodily injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish and medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges Martle negligently operated or maintained the motor vehicle so that it collided with Tortorella's vehicle.

Tortorella seeks trial by jury, damages that exceed $15,000, exclusive of costs and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorneys Paul R. Cavonis and Joseph M. Murphy of DeLoach, Hofstra & Cavonis PA in Seminole.
