CLEARWATER — A mother is suing a Clearwater miniature golf course, alleging negligence caused injuries to her daughter.

Amy Damon, as parent and natural guardian of Madeline Damon, minor, filed a complaint Nov. 7 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Congo River Golf and Exploration Company in Clearwater, alleging failure to maintain its property in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on April 22, Madeline Damon was at Congo River Golf when she slipped and fell on a foreign substance on the premises of the defendant's miniature golf course. As a result, the suit says, Damon suffered bodily injuries, disability and the expense of hospitalization.

The plaintiff alleges Congo River Golf and Exploration failed to warn of the unsafe condition on the premises, failed to inspect and maintain the area free of any unsafe condition and failed to prevent access to an area that had a dangerous condition.

Amy Damon seeks trial by jury, damages that exceed $15,000, plus costs and all other just relief. She is represented by attorneys Frank J. Currie and Teresa P. Williams of Clearwater.
