ORLANDO — An Orlando property owner is suing an insurance corporation, alleging breach of an insurance contract.

Maritza Lugo filed a complaint Oct. 26 in Orange County Circuit Court against Anchor Property & Casualty Insurance Company, alleging failure to pay the plaintiff's loss.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 15, Lugo's insured residence at 1521 Larks Nest Court, Orlando, suffered a property loss due to water damage. Lugo says she timely notified and provided Anchor Property with a damage estimate in the amount of $29,293.86.

The plaintiff alleges Anchor Property & Casualty Insurance rejected the total amount of damages and completely denied coverage.

Lugo seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, attorney fees and costs. She is represented by attorneys Hunter Pattterson, Alicia Perez and Michael Patrick of Strems Law Firm in Orlando.
