ORLANDO — Two Winter Park property owners are suing a licensed insurer, alleging breach of an insurance policy.

Nieves Colon and Richard Colon filed a complaint Oct. 25 in Orange County Circuit Court against St. Johns Insurance Company Inc., alleging defendant underpaid the plaintiffs' loss.

According to the complaint, on July 17, 2017, the Colons' insured property, 1293 Burning Trees Court, Winter Park, sustained sudden and accidental water damage. The Colons say they timely reported the loss to St Johns Insurance, which assigned them a claim number.

The plaintiffs allege St. Johns Insurance has failed to fully indemnify and completely compensate the plaintiffs' loss.

The Colons seek trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs, attorney fees and all other just and proper relief. They are represented by attorney Aaron A. Bass of Silver, Bass, Brams & Daniels PA in West Palm Beach.
