ORLANDO — Two Orlando property owners are suing  a licensed insurer, alleging breach of an insurance policy.

Marliz and Kenneth Kwong filed a complaint Oct. 9 in Orange County Circuit Court against Security First Insurance Company, doing business as Security First Florida, alleging failure to properly and sufficiently indemnify the plaintiffs for a property loss caused by a hurricane.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 9, 2017, the Kwongs' insured dwelling at 4526 Park Eden Circle, Orlando, sustained a covered loss from wind damage associated with Hurricane Irma. The Kowngs say they notified Security First of the loss but was not fully compensated.

The plaintiffs allege Security First Florida issued various payments but they were insufficient to restore the plaintiffs' Orlando property to its pre-loss condition.

The Kwongs seek trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, attorney fees and court costs. They are represented by attorney Paul T. Zeniewicz of PZ Law Firm PA in Orlando.
