ORLANDO — Homeowners are suing Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company, a liability insurer, citing alleged breach of insurance contract.
Bevelt Desrosier and Angelite Desrosier filed a complaint on Oct. 11 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida-Orange County against Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company alleging that the liability insurer failed to timely evaluate and pay the benefits owed to the plaintiff under the terms of the insurance policy.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Jan. 15, 2017, Bevelt Desrosier and Angelite Desrosier's property located at 2632 Ginger Mill Blvd. in Orlando suffered a covered loss. At the time of the occurrence, the insurance policy issued by defendant was in full force and effect, for which plaintiffs made a claim for benefits. The plaintiffs holds Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide necessary reimbursement for plaintiffs covered loss in accordance with the insurance contract.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, costs and attorney's fees. They are represented by Gal Sinclair of Gal Sinclair PA in Miami.
