ORLANDO — Two Orlando property owners are suing a liability insurer, alleging breach of an insurance contract.

Mariano Quintero and Maria Aviles-Quintero filed a complaint Sept. 6 in Orange County Circuit Court against Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company, alleging failure to fully perform under terms of the policy.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 11, 2017, the Quintero property at 7225 Tallowtree Lane, Orlando, sustained damage as a result of Hurricane Irma and during the policy period provided by Universal Property.

The plaintiffs allege Universal Property & Casualty Insurance failed to fully value their damages and failed to fully pay for all of their losses as required by the insurance policy.

Quintero and Aviles-Quintero seek trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs and attorney fees. They are represented by attorney Hans Kennon of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
