CLEARWATER — A surviving son is suing a St. Petersburg nursing facility, alleging negligent supervision of his mother.
The estate of Roshan Kurji, by and through her son, Alnor Kurji, filed a complaint Sept. 5 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Colonial Care NH LLC, doing business as Lexington Health and Rehabilitation Center, and Greystone Healthcare Management Corp., alleging violation of Florida law and the Florida Wrongful Death Act.
According to the complaint, between April 14-May 10, 2017, Roshan Kurji was a resident of Lexington Health and Rehabilitation when she developed pressure ulcers, malnutrition, dehydration, infection and ultimately death July 3, 2107.
As a result, Alnor Kurji says he suffered medical and funeral expenses, and the loss of comfort and guidance of a mother.
The plaintiff alleges Lexington Health and Rehabilitation Center and Greystone Healthcare Management failed to provide adequate and appropriate health care, protective and support services and failed to provide adequate and appropriate therapeutic and rehabilitative services to residents.
Alno Kurji seeks trial by jury and compensatory damages in excess of $15,000. He is represented by attorney Thomas S. Harmon of Harmon Parker, PA in Tampa.
