CLEARWATER — Two parents of a minor are suing a Pinellas Park gymnastics center, alleging negligence led to their daughter sustaining injuries.
Tricia Hofman-White and Matthew White, as parents of Berklee Hofman-White, a minor, filed a complaint Aug. 24 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Solid Rock Cheer Center Inc. doing business as Rock Solid Allstars, alleging failure to supervise the premises in a reasonably safe condition.
According to the complaint, on Aug. 25, 2014, Berklee Hofman-White was lawfully on the Rock Solid Allstars property in Pinellas Park as cheerleading student. The suit says she fell during a pyramid cheering exercise, suffering bodily injury.
As a result, the suit alleges, the minor plaintiff and her parents sustained mental anguish, loss enjoyment of life and expenses of hospitalization.
The plaintiffs allege Rock Solid Allstars failed to warn of a dangerous condition, failed to properly supervise a competitive cheer group of children and failed to supervise and utilize and provide “spotters” during a competitive cheer pyramid formation exercise.
Hofman-White and White seek trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus court costs and all other just and appropriate relief. They are represented by attorneys Timothy G. Anderson and Timothy G. Anderson Jr. of Anderson & Anderson in Tampa.
