Mr. Mehta is former federal prosecutor at the Department of Justice and a former attorney-advisor at the Department of State.
“We congratulate Jason on his selection to the Greater Tampa Chamber’s 2019 Leadership Tampa Class,” said Bradley Tampa Office Managing Partner Robert B. Glenn. “Jason has been a leader since his time as an assistant U.S. Attorney and with the U.S. Department of State. We are proud of his ongoing commitment to serving the local legal community.”
Established in 1970, Leadership Tampa is the third oldest leadership program in the nation and strives to identify, guide and enhance the skills and opportunities of current leaders in Tampa and surrounding Hillsborough County. Class members are business/professional people who hold leadership positions within their companies or organizations. Additionally, they have demonstrated a concern for community issues and volunteered their time with service and professional organizations.
Leadership Tampa will begin in September and run through May 2019. The program’s briefings, seminars and hands-on experiences involve top-level business, civic and government leaders from the community. Participants address healthcare, education, law enforcement, the environment, economic development, government and other important community issues.
A member of Bradley’s Government Enforcement and Investigations Practice Group, Mr. Mehta assists businesses and individuals involved in government investigations, False Claims Act and qui tam cases, and business litigation matters. His experience includes complex litigation and regulatory matters related to healthcare, defense procurement, cybersecurity, and financial service matters.
Prior to joining Bradley, Mr. Mehta most recently served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Jacksonville, Fla. During his five years as a prosecutor, he recovered nearly a quarter of a billion dollars for the U.S. government through False Claims Act suits and prosecuted dozens of companies and individuals.
Mr. Mehta received his J.D. (magna cum laude) from Harvard Law School and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley.
