CLEARWATER — A St. Petersburg property owner is suing an insurance company, alleging breach of contract.

Benjamin A. Brown filed a complaint Aug. 8 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Security First Insurance Company, alleging the defendant breached the insurance contract by failing to pay for all the plaintiff's losses.

According to the complaint, between March 31, 2017 and March 31, 2018, during the policy period, Benjamin A. Brown's dwelling at 3224 10th Ave. N., St. Petersburg, sustained a covered loss due to water damage.

Brown says he complied with all conditions precedent to recover under the Security First policy but has failed to receive coverage despite having an assigned claim number for the loss.

The plaintiff alleges Security First Insurance has failed to provide coverage for Brown's property loss.

Brown seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, interest on any overdue payments, plus attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by attorney Logan Templeton of The Nation Law Firm LLP in Longwood.
