CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County woman is suing Clearwater dog owners, alleging negligence led to an attack on the plaintiff.

Alison Sears filed a complaint Aug. 1 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Frederick Marschall and Madelin Marschall, alleging failure to secure their dog on their property.

According to the complaint, on March 18, the defendants' German shepherd entered Sears' Clearwater property and attacked her without provocation. She says she sustained serious and permanent injuries, resulting in physical pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement and scarring.

The plaintiff alleges Frederick and Madelin Marschall failed to secure their dog in order to prevent it from entering other properties and attacking other persons.

Sears seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, costs, attorney fees and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Matthew Carney of Carey Leisure & Neal Law Firm in Clearwater.
