FORT LAUDERDALE — Two Weston property owners are suing a licensed insurer, alleging breach of an insurance contract.

Matthew Couch and Kasey Couch filed a complaint July 24 in Broward County Circuit Court against Castle Key Insurance Company, alleging failure to indemnify the plaintiffs' covered losses.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 8, 2017, the Couches' property, 4119 Sabal Ridge Circle, Weston, sustained water damage. The plaintiffs say they promptly and timely filed a claim for the loss to Castle Key.

The plaintiffs allege Castle Key Insurance, despite investigating the loss and adjusting the plaintiffs' claim, have improperly denied coverage for the loss.

The Couches seek trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, exclusive of interest, attorney fees and costs. They are represented by attorneys Marc A. Wites and Thomas B. Rogers of Wites Law Firm in Lighthouse Point.
