Former employee accuses OPMAX Support Services of wrongful termination

Lawsuits
Wrongful term 07

ORLANDO — A former employee is suing OPMAX Support Services LLC, an employer, citing alleged retaliation and wrongful termination.

Veronica Davila filed a complaint July 5 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against OPMAX Support Services alleging that the employer subjected her to adverse employment actions.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 4, 2018, she was injured while in the course and scope of her employment with the defendant. Subsequently, she filed a valid claim for worker's compensation benefits. Twelve days after reporting her work-related injury, she was terminated from her employment. She suffered emotional distress, and loss of earning and employment benefits. The plaintiff holds OPMAX Support Services responsible because the defendant allegedly fired her in retaliation for sustaining an on-the-job injury.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages in excess of $15,000, exclusive of costs, interest and attorney’s fees. She is represented by Perry Nava and Eduardo Rodriguez of Pardy & Rodriguez PA in Orlando.
