CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County customer is suing a St. Petersburg bar/restaurant, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.
Helma M. Knighton filed a complaint June 4 in the Pinelllas County Circuit Court against Sea Hags Bar & Grill, alleging failure to exercise reasonable care in maintaining its premises in a safe condition.
According to the complaint, on May 20, 2016, Knighton was at the restaurant, 9555 Blind Pass Road, St. Petersburg. The suit says Knighton tripped and fell over the water meter box that was not even with the parking surface and was not reasonably visible.
As a result, Knighton says she sustained bodily injuries, pain, humiliation, inconvenience and incurred medical expenses for treatment and care. The plaintiff alleges Sea Hags Bar & Grill failed to exercise reasonable care in the maintenance of its premises in a safe and hazard-free conditions for customers and visitors.
Knighton seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, exclusive of attorney's fees, court costs, interest and all other relief deemed just and proper. She is represented by Adam Brum of Morgan & Morgan Tampa in St. Petersburg.
