ORLANDO — An Orange County customer is suing Publix, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Martha Estrada filed a complaint May 23 in Orange County Circuit Court against Publix Super Markets Inc., alleging the defendant negligently maintained, operated or controlled its premises.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 11, 2016, Estrada was shopping in Publix Super Market Store, 13850 Landstar Boulevard, Orlando. The suit says Estrada slipped and fell on a substance on the floor, causing her to sustain severe bodily injuries, pain, suffering, disability, mental anguish and substantial medical expenses for treatment.

The plaintiff alleges Publix Super Markets negligently failed to exercise reasonable care in maintaining its premises from harmful conditions that caused injuries to its customers.

Estrada seeks trial by jury, damages exceeding $15,000, plus interest, court costs, attorney fees and all just and proper relief. She is represented by attorney Travis J. McMillen of Bogin, Munns & Munns PA in Orlando.
