Driver alleges Pinellas County motorist caused crash

Car accident 39

CLEARWATER — A driver is suing a Pinellas County motorist, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent a vehicle crash and reckless conduct.

Amanda Widanka filed a complaint May 4 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Josue Ricardo Almodovar Rivera, alleging the defendant negligently operated and/or maintained a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 23, 2017, Widanka was traveling near Forest Lakes Boulevard near the intersection of Brooker Creek Boulevard in Oldsmar when her vehicle was struck by a motor vehicle driven by Rivera. As a result, Widanka says she sustained bodily injuries, pain, suffering, disfigurement, mental anguish and damages to property, plus expense of hospitalization, medical and nursing care and treatment.

The plaintiff alleges Rivera negligently operated and/or maintained the motor vehicle and failed to exercise reasonable care and caution to other drivers and motorists.

Widanka seeks trial by jury, all damages in excess of $15,000, exclusive of interests, court costs, attorney fees and all further relief the court deems just and proper. She is represented by attorney Christian Denmon of Denmon Pearlman in St. Petersburg.
