CLEARWATER — A Clearwater mother of a minor is suing a McDonald's in Largo, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries to her child.
Glechar Sookhlall, as parent and natural guardian of M.M., a minor, filed a complaint May 4 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against East Bay Mac LLC, doing business as McDonald's Restaurant, alleging failure to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition.
According to the complaint, on March 18, 2018, Sookhlall's son was in McDonald's in East Bay Drive, Largo when he slipped and fell on a wet floor inside the premises. As a result, the suit says, the minor sustained severe injuries to his mouth, pain, suffering, embarrassment and incurred substantial medical and treatment expenses.
The plaintiff alleges McDonald's failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition and failed to discover and eliminate hazards which existed in and around the premises, or to give adequate warning of known dangerous conditions.
Sookhlall seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, exclusive of interests, court costs, attorney fees, and all further relief the court deems proper. She is represented by attorney Marc B. Parish of Catania & Catania, PA in Tampa.
