FORT LAUDERDALE — A Broward County motorist is suing another driver, alleging negligence led to a crash that injured the plaintiff.
Orlando Omar Harty filed a complaint April 25 in Broward County Circuit Court against Eric Norman Simon, alleging the defendant negligently operated and/or maintained a vehicle so that it collided with the plaintiff's 2016 Toyota.
According to the complaint, on Jan. 1, Harty was driving north on NW 27th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale near the intersection with Sunrise Boulevard. The suit says Harty's Toyota was struck by Simon's 2012 Ford.
As a result, Harty says, he suffered severe and permanent injuries, resulting in pain, disability, aggravation of a pre-existing condition, mental anguish, medical care and treatment, lost wages and other economic damages.
The plaintiff alleges Simon negligently operated and/or maintained a vehicle so that it collided with another car and that the defendant owed a duty to operate the vehicle in a reasonably safe manner.
Harty seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus interests, costs and any other relief the court deems appropriate. He is represented by attorneys Glen B. Levine and Lawrence A. Levine of Law Offices of Anidjar & Levine, PA in Fort Lauderdale.
