Broward County motorist alleges another driver caused crash

Car accident 13

FORT LAUDERDALE — A Broward County motorist is suing a vehicle owner and another driver, alleging reckless conduct, resulting in injuries.

Steve Anthony Stephenson filed a complaint April 25 in Broward County Circuit Court against Kayla Maria Huisman-Hernandez and Marcos Huisman, alleging failure to ensure that a vehicle is operated safely to avoid causing injuries.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 13, 2017, Stephenson was driving near Pines Boulevard and North Hiatus Road in Broward County. The suit says Stephenson's vehicle was struck by a vehicle negligently driven by Kayla Maria Huisman-Hernandez and owned by Marcos Huisman.

As a result, Stephenson says, he sustained bodily injuries, pain, suffering and aggravation of previously existing conditions.

The plaintiff alleges Kayla Maria Huisman-Hernandez operated and/or maintained a motor vehicle so as to cause it to collide with another vehicle.

Stephenson seeks trial by jury, damages that exceed the jurisdictional amount of $15,000, plus interest, court costs, attorney fees and all further relief the court deems just and proper. He is represented by attorneys Eric W. Nicastro and Marc D. Pacin of Pacin Levine, PA in Fort Lauderdale.
