ORLANDO – A Canadian citizen alleges she was injured while working on an uneven portion of sidewalk in Orlando.
Maryse Villeneuve filed a complaint on April 20 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Cabot, Cabot & Forbes Co. doing business as CC&F Orlando Investment Co. Inc., alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, Villeneuve alleges that on Dec. 30, 2016, she was returning to her hotel and walking on the sidewalk when she tripped and fell over a crooked and uneven portion of the sidewalk and was injured. The said sidewalk was owned and maintained by defendant, the complaint states.
The plaintiff holds Cabot, Cabot & Forbes Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inspect, maintain and correct the hazardous condition of the sidewalk.
The plaintiff seeks damages and demands judgment of more than $15,000, plus interest, costs, and such other further relief as the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Harran E. Udell of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
