ORLANDO — A customer is suing an Orlando nightclub, alleging negligence in allowing a defective condition to exist for a length of time.

Estefania Alarcon filed a complaint April 16 in Orange County Circuit Court against Bennett Road Nightclub LLC, doing business as Gilt Nightclub, alleging failure to keep its premises in a reasonably safe condition so that persons would not be injured.

According to the complaint, on July 23, 2017, Alarcon was at Gilt Nightclub, 740 Bennett Road, Orlando, when she slipped and fell due to a liquid substance on the dance floor. As a result, Alarcon says, she suffered physical injuries, aggravation of a pre-existing condition and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Gilt Nightclub failed to warn the general public of any danger and defective condition existing on the club's dance floor.

Alarcon seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus interest and costs. She is represented by attorney Debi F. Chalik of Chalik & Chalik PA in Plantation.
