Palm Harbor property owner accuses family member of unlawful stay in house

CLEARWATER — A Palm Harbor property owner is suing a family member, alleging an unlawful stay on the property.

Nick Meintanas filed a complaint Jan. 25 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Christos Meintanas alleging that violation of Florida statutes by refusing to comply with the property owner's demands to leave the premises.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 23, 2017, Nick Meintanas revoked his consent for the defendant to be in possession of the dwelling at 2763 Jarvis Circle, Palm Harbor, and informed and demanded that Christos Meintanas vacate his property. The plaintiff says the defendant refuses to grant his request and continues to stay on the property.

The plaintiff alleges Christos Meintanas has refused to vacate the property and unlawfully continues in possession of the property against the property owner's consent.

Nick Meintanas seeks trial by jury, fees, costs of action, plus all other relief the court deems proper. He is represented by attorney Michael V. Hargett of Barnett, Bolt, Kirkwood, Long & Koche in Tampa.
