Mother blames vehicle owner, operator for son's death

Car accident 16

CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County woman is suing a vehicle owner and operator, alleging negligence and wrongful death.

Donna Acquarolo, personal representative of the estate of Dante Acquarolo, filed a complaint Jan. 8 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Stanoja Mitrovic and BB&M Transport, Inc., alleging the defendants entrusted and operated a vehicle so as to cause a collision with another vehicle, leading to the untimely death of a motorist, the plaintiff's son.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 27, 2016, at 38th Ave. North and 42nd Street in St. Petersburg, Mitrovic was driving a vehicle owned by BB&M Tranport. The suit says the the defendant's vehicle caused a collision with a car driven by Dante Acquarolo. The suit says Acquarolo died that day of injuries from the crash.

The plaintiff alleges Mitrovic failed to operate his vehicle in a prudent and careful manner so to avoid any collision that leads to severe and permanent injuries to other motorists.

Donna Acquarolo seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, court costs and prejudgment interest. She is represented by attorney Alan D. Watson of St. Petersburg.
