ORLANDO — A Utah woman is suing the property owner of Universal Orlando, alleging negligence caused her to suffer injuries.

Vanessa Duran filed a complaint Jan. 4 in Orange County Circuit Court against Universal City Development Partners LTD, alleging the defendant failed to maintain the premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on July 13, 2016, Duran was at the Universal Orlando theme park when she was caused to fall due to an unsecured drain. As a result, Duran says she suffered bodily injuries, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish and expense of hospitalization.

The plaintiff alleges Universal City Development Partners failed to maintain its grounds in a reasonably safe condition, failed to correct a dangerous condition and failed to warn of the dangerous condition.

Duran seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus costs of action and all other equitable and legal relief. She is represented by attorney Jonah M. Wolfson of Wolfson Law Firm, LLP in Miami.
