Patient accuses dentist, dental clinic of negligence

CLEARWATER — A patient is suing a Pinellas County dentist, alleging negligence.

Yolanda Franke filed a complaint Dec. 21 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Dr. Douglas J. Graybill and Douglas J. Graybill DDS PA, alleging he failed to exercise standard care and skill required of medical providers.

According to the complaint, ton June 18, 2015, Franke sustained significant and permanent injuries to her mouth and overall health during dental surgery to put in crowns. The suit says she suffered pain, incurred medical and related expenses in the treatment of her injuries, mental anguish, pain and suffering and loss of the ability to lead a normal life. Franke said her troubles are the result of Graybill's negligence in performing dental procedures and not recommending proper treatment plans. 

The plaintiff alleges Graybill failed to administer proper medication and dosage to Franke, failed to properly diagnose, document and/or monitor her elevated blood pressure, and failed to properly document Franke's medical history.

Franke seeks trial by jury, damages exceeding $15,000, plus court costs.. She is represented by attorney Nicholas M. Matassini of The Matassini Law Firm PA in Tampa.
