CLEARWATER — A couple is suing Pinellas County medical providers, alleging loss of consortium and negligence.
Scott Wojcik and Jennie Wojcik filed a complaint Dec. 6 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Northside Hospital, HCA-Emcare Holdings LLC, Emcare Inc., Edward Djan-Kwansa et al., alleging they failed to exercise standard care and skill required of medical providers.
According to the complaint, on Nov. 8, 2016, Scott Wojcik went to Northside Hospital, complaining of gastric pains. Since then, the suit says, Wojcik has suffered permanent and debilitating injuries and damages, as a result of the negligent medical care, treatment and services to plaintiff provided by the defendants. Additionally, Jennie Wojcik says she has suffered loss of consortium, support, services, and companionship of her husband.
The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to perform an appropriate history and physical examination of Scott Wojcik, failed to adequately communicate with the patient and other health care providers, and failed to appropriately supervise the care of the other health care providers.
The Wojciks seek trial by jury, judgment against the defendants, including but not limited to, compensatory damages of more than $15,000, court costs, pre-judgment interest and all other relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorney Charles Moore of Morgan & Morgan PA in St. Petersburg.
