Woman alleges condition of Lakemont Center Partnership sidewalk caused fall

Slip02

ORLANDO – An Orange County woman alleges she fell at a Winter Park property because of the condition of the sidewalk.

Leslie Thomas filed a complaint on Nov. 30 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Lakemont Center Partnership LLP and Lakemont Center Partnership alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Thomas alleges that on May 24, she entered the business premises of the defendants in order to take her mother to a doctor's appointment. She alleges she was unable to maintain her footing and fell due to a slippery, deteriorated, un-level and negligently maintained walkway to the parking lot of the building.

The plaintiff holds Lakemont Center Partnership LLP and Lakemont Center Partnership responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to exercise reasonable care in the maintenance, inspection, repair, warning, or mode of operation of the business premises.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, costs, attorney's fees, and any other relief the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Carrie Mendrick Roane of Fasig Brooks in Tallahassee.
