ORLANDO – An Orlando woman alleges she was injured at a store in the city and is seeking more than $15,000 in damages.

Maria Echevarria filed a complaint on Dec. 1 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Orange Circuit Court against Terminal Freight Handling Co., doing business as Sears Distribution Center & Sales, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 20, 2015, she was at the defendant's store to shop and was injured when she tripped and fell when entering the store.

The plaintiff holds Terminal Freight Handling Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inspect or adequately warn plaintiff of the danger of the entrance ramp, and failed to have adequate staff on duty and/or assigned to the task of inspecting the premises.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant for damages of more than $15,000, plus interest and costs. She is represented by Louis A. DeFreitas Jr. of Morgan & Morgan PA in Kissimmee.
