ORLANDO — An Orange County man is suing the owner/operator of an Orlando apartment complex, alleging failure to warn of a dangerous situation.
Eugene Flores filed a complaint Nov. 30 in Orange County Circuit Court against Tralee Cricket Club LLC, doing business as Cricket Club Apartments, alleging the defendant failed to keep its property in a in reasonably safe condition.
According to the complaint, on April 30, 2014, while Flores was at the Cricket Club Apartments, 1400 Cricket Club Circle, Orlando, when he was violently shot by one of three individuals who fled the scene. Flores says the defendant had actual knowledge that the apartment complex was in a heavily drug trafficked area with a high crime rate.
As a result, Flores says he suffered physical injuries, mental anguish and the expense of hospitalization.
The plaintiff alleges Cricket Club Apartments failed to exclude dangerous individuals/patrons by allowing them on the property, failed to adequately warn guests of the dangers in the area and failed to provide security guards to prevent an unreasonable risk of harm.
Flores seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus court costs, interest and all other just and proper relief. He is represented by attorneys Craig R. Lynd, Jeffrey S. Kaufman and Ashley Lefevre of Kaufman & Lynd, PLLC in Orlando.
