CLEARWATER – A tenant at a Pinellas Park property is seeking damages after her apartment was alleged infested with bed bugs.

Juan Veliz Rodriguez filed a complaint on Nov. 29 in the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida - Pinellas County against Oceanside Affordable Housing LLC, doing business as Oceanside Estate Apartments, alleging breach of duty.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 22, 2015, she was leasing a unit in defendant's apartment complex and the apartment was infested with bed bugs.

The plaintiff holds Oceanside Affordable Housing LLC, doing business as Oceanside Estate Apartments, responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn or protect tenants from the conditions.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages of more than $15,000 and other such relief deemed proper by the court. She is represented by Alina M. Morris of Fiol Law Group PA in Tampa.
