Client alleges attorney breached contract

Contract 01

CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County man is suing a Dade County attorney, alleging breach of contract.

Paul L. Phillips filed a complaint Nov. 28 in the Pinellas Circuit Court against Glenn J. Holzberg, alleging the attorney failed to pay for services rendered.

According to the complaint, Phillips has suffered economic damages after entering into an oral contract with Holzberg. The suit says Phillips agreed to provide expert services on behalf of Holzberg for one of his legal cases at an agreed-upon rate of $750 per hour. However, Phillips says, the defendant has refused to pay for plaintiff's expert work.

The plaintiff alleges Holzberg used and benefited from Phillips' expert opinion and work without paying for his valuable time and services.

Phillips seeks trial by jury, damages between $5,000 and $15,000, costs of action and all further relief the court deems just and proper. He is represented by attorney Richard T. Heiden of Clearwater.
