ORLANDO — An Orlando man is suing Trader Joe's, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Steven Howard filed a complaint Nov. 16 in Orange County Circuit Court against Trader Joe's Company, alleging failure to provide a safe environment for its business invitees.

According to the complaint, on March 28, 2016, Howard was at the Trader Joe grocery store, 8323 Sand Luke Road, Orlando, as a customer. The suit says Howard slipped and fell on a grape that was left on the floor in the produce department.

The lawsuit states Howard suffered bodily injuries, disability, disfigurement, permanent and significant scarring, medical and nursing care expenses and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff alleges Trader Joe's failed to maintain and inspect the area for trip hazard, failed to warn Howard of the dangerous condition, failed to follow its own corporate policies regarding the dangerous condition, and failed to render aid to the plaintiff.

Howard seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus interest and court costs. He is represented by attorney Harran E. Udell of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
