CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County woman is suing a Clearwater property owner, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Maria Cusano filed a complaint Nov. 7 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Normandy Park Oaks Condominium Association Inc., alleging failure to provide a safe and secure environment.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 1, 2015, Cusano was a resident at the defendant's property, Normandy Park Drive, Clearwater. The suit says Cusano sustained injuries and damages due to the defendant’s negligent installation and maintenance of a structural column in her home. The lawsuit says the column detached and struck Cusano, causing bodily injury, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, aggravation of a preexisting condition and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff alleges Normandy Park Oaks Condominium Association failed to adequately inspect the public areas of its premises, failed to maintain the premises in a safe condition, and failed to warn Cusano of the existence of the dangerous condition.

Cusano seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus costs, pre-and post judgment interest, and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Paul Puzzanghera of Puzzanghera Law Offices PA in St. Petersburg.
