CLEARWATER — A Clearwater woman is suing Target, alleging negligence led to her suffering injuries.
Lilian Fumero filed a complaint Oct. 24 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Target Corporation, alleging failure to use due care to maintain its premises in a safe condition.
According to the complaint, on Oct. 9, 2016, Fumero was at the Target store at Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard, Clearwater. The suit says Fumero fell, leading to injuries or aggravations to pre-existing injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, disfigurement, disability, and mental anguish.
Fumero says the fall was caused by the negligence of Target in allowing a transitory substance to remain on the floor of its premises.
The plaintiff alleges Target failed to warn her of the dangerous condition associated with the transitory substance, and failed to properly provide training to Target employees regarding the proper maintenance and inspection of floors.
Fumero seeks trial by jury, damages that exceed $15,000, exclusive of costs and attorney fees, and all further relief the court deems just and proper. She is represented by attorney Jonathan Sanclemente of The Pendas Law Firm in Tampa.
