Motorist alleges Geico failed to cover crash injuries

CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County driver and her minor passenger are suing Geico, alleging breach of contract.

Amanda Taylor and as guardian of K.T., a minor, filed a complaint Oct. 19 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Geico General Insurance Company, alleging breach iof good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, on June 19, Taylor was driving with her minor passenger on County Route 611 north of Tampa Road, when an unidentified motorist unlawfully change lane toward Taylor's path, causing a collision. As a result, Taylor says she suffered bodily injuries and resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life.

The crash incurred medical and treatment expenses and loss of ability to earn money. The plaintiffs allege Geico General Insurance failed and has refused to pay all benefits to which the Taylors are entitled under the policy of insurance.

Amanda Taylor seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, costs of court and all other relief the court deems just and appropriate. They are represented by attorneys Peter L. Tragos and Peter A. Sartes of Tragos, Sartes & Tragos PLLC in Clearwater.
