CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County woman is suing Clearwater, and Verizon, alleging negligence caused her to fall and suffer injuries.

Gloria Devine filed a complaint Oct. 19 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against the city of Clearwater and Verizon Communications Inc., alleging they failed to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 23, 2013, Devine was on the property operated and managed by the defendants at1145 La Salle St., Clearwater. The suit says Devine tripped and fell on a hole in the ground. The plaintiff alleges Clearwater and Verizon failed to implement reasonable inspection of the property, failed to maintain the property in a safe condition, and failed to warn Devine of the existence of the dangerous condition.
