Customer blames Wal-Mart for injuries at Pinellas Park store

CLEARWATER — A customer is suing Wal-Mart, alleging negligence caused her injuries at at Pinellas Park store.

Amy Lam filed a complaint Oct. 19 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Stores East LP, alleging failure to use due care to maintain its premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 13, 2016, Lam she was shopping at the Wal-Mart property at 8001 U.S. 19 N., Pinellas Park, when she slipped on the wet and slippery floor. The suit says Lam was injured her body and extremities, suffered pain, incurred medical expenses, suffered an aggravation of pre-existing medical conditions and sustained a physical handicap, mental anguish and impaired working abilities. 

The plaintiff alleges Wal-Mart Stores East failed to keep the property properly maintained to prevent injury, and failed to warn of the dangerous conditions on store property.

Lam seeks trial by jury, damages of at least $15,000, interest, court costs and all relief that the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Patrick W. Harland Jr. of The Law Firm of Patrick W. Harland Jr. LLC in St. Petersburg and by Mai N. Vu of Vu Legal PA in Tampa.
