ORLANDO — A tenant is suing an Orlando apartment complex, alleging negligence and vicarious liability in an assault on the plaintiff.

Shannon Freeman filed a complaint Oct. 10 in Orange County Circuit Court against RP Beacon Hill LLC,  alleging the apartment complex failed to use due care to maintain its premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on March 6, 2015, while Freeman was in front of her apartment, 7336 Beacon Hill Loop, Orlando, she was attacked and violently assaulted by an assailant. The suit says the attack led to injuries on her body and extremities, pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, permanent and significant scarring, mental anguish, loss of earnings, aggravation of a previously existing condition and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges RP Beacon Hill failed to have proper lighting in and around the property, failed to properly monitor the common areas of the property, failed to secure the perimeter, and failed to provide adequate supervision and security.

Freeman seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus interest and court costs. She is represented by attorney Nicholas P. Panagakis of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
