Former worker accuses Off Lease Only of wrongful termination

Wrongful term 09

ORLANDO — A sales manager is suing an Orlando business, alleging retaliation and wrongful termination.

Darnell Glenn of Osceola County filed a complaint Oct. 3 in Orange County Circuit Court against Off Lease Only, Inc. alleging violation of Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

According to the complaint, in January 2016, Glenn requested from Off Lease Only to take a family medical leave for the birth of his two children. The suit says Glenn was denied his request and later terminated one month after his second request to take family medical leave.

As a result, Glenn says he suffered lost wages, benefits and embarrassment. The plaintiff holds alleges Off Lease Only interfered with the exercise of an employee's right to unpaid leave and acted with intent to retaliate against an employee for exercising his rights to a family medical leave.

Glenn seeks trial by jury, back pay, reinstatement, liquidated and monetary damages of at least $15,000, attorney fees, court costs, and all further just and appropriate relief. He is represented by attorney James J. Henson of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
