Customer blames Maitland bank for injuries

Slip01

ORLANDO — An Orange County woman is suing Maitland bank property owners, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Greta Charles filed a complaint Sept. 21 in Orange County Circuit Court against Branch Banking and Trust Company and Prague Enterprises LLC, alleging failure to provide a safe and secure environment.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 8, 2015, Charles entered defendants' commercial property at 360 E. Horatio Ave., Maitland for the purpose of banking. The suit says Charles slipped and fell on a water and grease liquid substance on the ground leading to the area of the ATM machine.

As a result, Charles said she sustained severe and disabling physical injuries, physical handicap, impairment, lost wages and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to warn invitees of the latent dangerous condition, and failed to adequately maintain and inspect the premises to keep it free from defects.

Charles seeks trial by jury, damages that exceed $15,000, plus interest and court costs. She is represented by attorneys Gary J. Boynton of Winter Park, and by Paul N. White-Davis of Morgan, White-Davis & Martinez PA in Winter Park.
