ORLANDO — An Orange County man is suing Winter Garden property owners and operator, alleging negligence led to injuries.

Roger Drew filed a complaint Sept. 13 in Orange County Circuit Court against DDR Winter Garden LLC, Universal Protection Service LLC, also known as Allied Universal Topco LLC and A-1 Orange Cleaning Service Co. Inc., alleging they failed to provide a safe environment for its business invitees.

According to the complaint,on Dec. 3, 2016, Drew came to defendant's Winter Garden property in Orlando to patronize one of the retail stores. The suit say while exiting World Market, Drew tripped and fell on a large raised slab and crack in the cement.

As a result, the lawsuit states, Drew sustained injuries, including pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, medical expenses and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to follow its own policies and procedure on safety, failed to properly train its employees to be vigilant, and failed to have an adequate reporting system in the event of a dangerous condition.

Drew seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages of more than $15,000 and costs against the defendants, and all other relief the court deems just and proper. He is represented by attorneys John Allan Watson and Travis J. McMillen of Bogin, Munns & Munns PA in Orlando.
