St. Petersburg homeowner alleges insurance company has failed to cover damages

CLEARWATER – A St. Petersburg property owner alleges her insurer has failed to pay her benefits for damages to her home.

Lisa L. Wetter filed a complaint on June 21 in the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida - Pinellas County against Citizens Property Insurance Corp. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 3, 2014, she discovered physical damage to her insured residence while defendant's policy was in full force and effect. She alleges the defendant has breached the policy of insurance by failing to pay all benefits due for the damages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages for the costs or repair or replacement of plaintiff's insured dwelling, plus interest, costs of court, attorney's fees and all further relief as the court deems proper. She is represented by Sarah K. Hibbard of Morgan & Morgan Tampa PA in Tampa.
