ORLANDO – A Seminole County woman claims that she was injured during a surgery at an Orange County medical facility.
Finetta Jaquez filed a complaint on May 16 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Orlando Health Inc., Orlando Health Physicians Group Inc. and Bertrand Fonji MD alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 21, 2015, Fonji performed gallbladder surgery on her and was later diagnosed with a bile duct injury. She alleges this injury resulted in additional treatment, including surgery.
The plaintiff holds Orlando Health Inc., Orlando Health Physicians Group Inc. and Fonji responsible because the defendants allegedly breached the standard of care and failed to timely recognize, diagnose and treat plaintiff's condition post-surgery.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for all compensatory damages allowable by law. She is represented by Pamella A. Padilla of Martinez Manglardi PA in Kissimmee.
