ORLANDO – A Broward County woman alleges a Palm Bay business has architectural barriers that restrict access to the disabled.
Patricia Kennedy filed a complaint on April 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against L&C Arlington Pipes Partnership LLC alleging violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the defendant's property has barriers that infringe her right to travel free of discrimination. The plaintiff holds L&C Arlington Pipes Partnership LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly has a lack of compliant and accessible routes connecting the disabled parking space to the facilities of the property, including excessive slopes, inaccessible doorways and other several obstructions.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, injunctive relief, attorney's fees, costs, litigation expenses, and other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Thomas B. Bacon in Fort Lauderdale.
