MIAMI – A Miami man, who is a partial quadriplegic, alleges a business in the city has illegal barriers that made it difficult for him to access the property.

Christopher Hansen filed a complaint on March 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against West Calle Ocho Service Station LLC alleging violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he visited the defendant's facility and encountered barriers to access the services there. The plaintiff holds West Calle Ocho Service Station LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly has an inaccessible exterior service window counter, an inaccessible restroom and other barriers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, enjoin it from further discriminatory practices, correct and alter the subject facility, attorney’s fees, expert fees, costs and litigation expenses. He is represented by Lauren Wassenberg of Law Office of Lauren Wassenberg in Boca Raton.
