MIAMI – A former nurse for a Miami health care facility alleges she was not paid at the appropriate rate for overtime work.
Rosalyn Elaine Dickerson filed a complaint on March 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against West Gables Rehabilitation Hospital LLC, Marilyn Crespo and Marco Carrasco citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was employed by the defendants for 20 years. The plaintiff holds West Gables Rehabilitation Hospital LLC, Crespo and Carrasco responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to compensate plaintiff of overtime wages at a rate of time-and-one-half of her regular wage rate and failed to appropriately track the hours worked by plaintiff.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, double damages, attorney’s fees, court costs, interests and other relief that the court finds reasonable. She is represented by Ricardo Corona and Allyson Morgado of Corona Law Firm PA in Miami.
