MIAMI – A Doral shopping plaza and restaurant are accused of restricting access to the disabled because of barriers at the property.

Doug Longhini filed a complaint on March 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Belven I LLC and Basilico Ristorante at Doral Inc. citing the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants' property does not have accessible routes, has excessive slopes on curb ramps and other barriers. The plaintiff holds Belven I LLC and Basilico Ristorante at Doral Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly discriminated against plaintiff by denying him access to and full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services and facilities of the property.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, attorneys' fees, costs, litigation expenses, and further relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Anthony J. Perez of Garcia-Menocal & Perez PL in Miami.
